The BBC reported on Monday that it had received a list of the 34 hostages that Hamas was willing to release in the humanitarian pulse in the coming deal. According to the report, the list does not specify which of the hostages are alive and who is dead, including 10 women, 11 adults aged 85-50, and the two children of the Bibbs family, Ariel and Kfir, who Hamas had previously announced dead (without proof). The list also includes hostages whom Hamas has described as “sick.”
At the same time, the Al-Sharq Saudi network published the seemingly complete list, including names and ages. It should be emphasized that the names were not published on the BBC, but only in Sharq, and this is a list that cannot be verified at this stage, and the fate of the hostages persons listed in it is unknown.
Among other things, the list also lists the names of Hisham a-Sayed and Abra Mengistu – but not of the two fallen soldiers of Operation Protective Edge of 2014 – Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul.
The Prime Minister’s Office said that the list of hostages published in the media was not transferred to Israel by Hamas, but was originally transferred from Israel to intermediaries as early as July 2024. “So far, Israel has not received any approval or reference by Hamas to the situation of the hostages appearing on the list. Israel will continue to work tirelessly to bring back all of our hostages .” It should be noted that yesterday, in parallel with the trip of the head of the Mossad to the negotiations in Qatar, the Prime Minister’s Office denied the report that Israel had received a list of 34 hostages to be released in the deal.
