A day of extensive attacks on the northern front

Hezbollah armed forces. Wikipedia, tansimnews

On Tuesday, the IDF launched a series of attacks against buildings in the Dahiya neighborhood of Beirut, known as Hezbollah’s command and control stronghold in Lebanon. Dozens of structures were destroyed, including those that stored precision and long-range missiles, and buildings that included weapons production sites, including almost irreplaceable industrial components for the organization (at least for the near future). Dozens of attacks also took place in northern and southern Lebanon, from Nabatiya to the Bekaa. According to reports, one of the fatalities in the attacks was Hadi Nasrallah, the nephew of the late organization’s secretary-general, who was named after his cousin, the leader’s son, who was killed in a run-in with IDF soldiers in 1997.

At the same time, negotiations with the Americans continue to mediate a cease-fire in Lebanon. The mediator Amos Hochstein expressed optimism about Hezbollah’s desire to bring about a complete end to the war, but of course, for Israel, the fire will not stop until its demands regarding the creation of a better enforcement system of Security Council Resolution 1701 are met, And while strengthening the Lebanese state at the expense of Hezbollah – when at the same time the Chief of Staff approved plans to deepen the maneuver into the second line of villages on the Lebanese border. On Sunday, Israel officially released that according to information it has, the large explosion that took place in Beirut harbor 4 years ago and led to almost 200 fatalities was caused by the poor storage of Hezbollah’s weapon means of production, which was not afraid to operate in a manner that is embedded within the civilian population. The publication is supposed to harm Hezbollah’s credibility within Lebanon.

Hezbollah has also been exerting more than usual force against Israel in recent days – perhaps an attempt to create a “victory picture” before the campaign closes. UAVs launched into Israel from the north and east were successfully intercepted, and miraculously, there were no casualties from a drone that exploded in a kindergarten in the city of Nesher. Rockets fired at Gush Dan was also successfully intercepted; however, in a barrage of rockets toward Nahariya, two civilians were injured and killed – Ziv Belfer, 52, a cafe place owner in Haifa, and Shimon Najem, 54, a former SLA soldier who had exiled to Israel. May their memory be blessed.
