Following the activity of security forces throughout Judea and Samaria, SWAT fighters killed four terrorists, including Muhammad Jaber, known as Abu Shaja’a, head of the terrorist organization in Nur a-Shams and one of the most wanted terrorists in Judea and Samaria. Abu Sheja’a was involved in many attacks, including the June shooting attack in which Amnon Mukhtar was murdered.
Amnon Mukhtar, a 67-year-old developer, was shot dead in his car when he went shopping in the city of Qalqiliya. Mukhtar owned a long-time fruit and vegetable stand and was known in the Petah Tikva market, leaving behind a wife and five children.
The SWAT fighters arrived at the terrorist squad that was hiding inside a mosque in Tulkarm after receiving intelligence information from the Shin Bet. The fighters engaged in a shootout with the terrorists, during which one of the fighters was lightly wounded and was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Muhammad Jaber’s assassination comes almost two months after an IDF air strike at his uncle’s house, which he survived, and four months after another IDF assassination attempt. In an article published in the “News Moment” after the assassination attempt, it was written that “one can expect that the IDF will continue to try and destroy the terrorist until an account is brought with it. From the beginning of the Iron Swords War, the IDF has again instituted a policy of air strikes in Judea and Samaria, and has carried out 80 targeted air strikes from October , using more than 50 drone strikes, combat helicopters and fighter jets, To eliminate terrorists who are dangerous or have already carried out attacks, at minimal risk to our forces and minimize harm to the uninvolved.”
Until the writing of these lines, about 16 terrorists were killed in the extensive operation, and the activity has not yet come to an end. The security forces operate in three main arenas: Jenin, Tulkarm, and al-Far’a refugee camp near Tubas. The operation includes the use of an air force aircraft, which killed three terrorists last night.
The extensive operation to thwart terrorism was opened 24 hours ago, with the aim of hitting as many terrorist infrastructures as possible in the West Bank and the Jordan Valley, with an emphasis on neutralizing IEDs and locating and eliminating terrorist operatives. The security establishment decided to launch the operation in light of the proximity to the Tishrei holidays and after the explosive device that exploded in Tel Aviv last week.
After the explosion of the explosive device, it was estimated that additional charges had been smuggled into the refugee camps as part of an ever-expanding infrastructure that includes, among other things, explosive laboratories and a chain of transporting explosives to engineers in those laboratories. The IDF’s ambition in this operation is to locate and destroy the laboratories in order to strengthen the security of the citizens of Israel.
