The Oscars nominees: ‘Golda’ included

The annual and prestigious Academy Awards ceremony is expected to take place in a month and a half, on March 11; the nominees were declared Yesterday, in a special broadcast. The Oscars ceremony not only provides a bit of healthy escapism, but is also a good summary of a lively film year, and this year- there is even Israeli representation.

“Golda”, an incredible film by the Israeli director Guy Nativ about the conduct of Golda Meir in the Yom Kippur War, starring the beloved pro-Israel actress Helen Mirren, is on the list of nominees that was released yesterday. This Israeli representation is a national pride, and it is especially significant at this time – with a war echoing the 1973 war so strongly.
Seeing how we, the Israelis, overcome the same challanges after decades, is truly inspiring.
